Rail pass for one day in Zurich?

About the only pass that is any use for a single day around Zurich is the Zurich Card.

I agree with Lucas, assuming you are in good shape for long walks on flat terrain. Two years ago, my son and I had a full afternoon to spend in Zurich (after having spent time in Lucerne and Lauterbrunnen areas) before leaving by plane for home the next day.

Although we had the Swiss Travel Pass and could have taken the trams in town (although at the time I wasn’t sure if we could use the pass), we opted to walk around the city. From our hotel near the train station we headed south as far as Geiserbrunnen and back zig-zagging the streets. A long walk but as a 71 year old in average shape, I made it without exhausting myself.

(We could have used the STP on the trams… right? Im not suggesting Shelly get the STP, not appropriate. Can someone indicate where to get the Zurich card? On the tram itself?)
