We will be in Basel for a few hours at the end of June and would like to enjoy a casual lunch along the river. I’ve heard about grabbing a bite while people watching along the river (buvettes?). We plan on doing a walking tour of the city and taking the ferry across the river. Can you tell me which area along the river is the best for this. Thanks

Hi Rfreedfl! There are several restaurants along the Oberer Rheinweg at the northern Rhine bank, opposite the old town centre. You’ll have nice views towards the Münster cathedral across the river there and it’s an atmospheric promenade.
