We are hiking into Leukerbad in July and need to find transportation from Leukerbad to Zermatt. What are the best options?

Are there any private shuttles that could get us to the trail head at the Europaweg Skywalk?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Leukerbad to Zermatt options can be found in the timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable.

The Europeweg Skywalk is officially called the Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge, and it’s in the mountains. The quickest way to get there is to walk from Randa train station to the bridge, which takes at least 2 hours. Then walk back down 😉 It’s a narrow valley with hardly any roads going up, so I don’t think a car could get you much farther.

Does the bridge lead you into Zermatt?

Yes, but only after 6 hours of walking, at least.
