Operating completely as normal. Like all railways the SPB has a fleet of trains available – one out of service won’t make any difference.
It doesn’t run after October (it is always closed October – May)
The SPB is unique – a wonderful experience . It retains in daily service small box shaped locomotives some built 105 years ago. They push ancient wooden seated open sided carriages up the mountain at a wonderfully ’19th century’ sedate pace. A complete contrast to mountain railways using modernised fleets such as Jungfrau and Gornergrat

I just remembered that some of the operating engines were built in 1910 so are 109 years old this year!
