Hi Paul!
Yes, 8 of your days can be used for free and discounted traveling with the Swiss Travel Pass Flex, leaving you with one day that’s not free or discounted. It makes sense to use this non-free travel day for the journey Lucerne-Zurich Airport, as that’s a pretty short and inexpensive journey. If there’s another day in your schedule that hardly involves any traveling, you’d better pick that one as your non-free travel day though. Here’s how to find prices: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable.
It’s up to you to decide which days to use as free travel days. It makes sense to use one for your Jungfraujoch trip as that will be very expensive without any discounts. Here’s how it works: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpassflex/howt ouse.
By the way, an 8 day regular Swiss Travel Pass might have been a cheaper solution for your plans. A 2nd class 8 day Swiss Travel Pass Flex costs CHF 467, whereas a regular 8 day Swiss Travel Pass costs CHF 418. In both cases you’d be left with a non-covered 9th day, and if you’d plan to use that for the trip Lucerne-Zurich Airport on your last you’d only pay an additional CHF 30. It doesn’t really matter now as you’ve already bought your pass, so this is more of a heads-up to other readers :-). Enjoy your stay!

Thanks Annika. As it turns out we bought the Zurich to Lucerne tickets and will use the pass going the other way. Jungfraujoch tomorrow! There was something new about this trip too. When we went to the booking office in Interlaken OST to check what to do tomorrow, we were advised to reserve seats on the final leg to Jungfrau and back, because there are so many people doing the trip. One time slot was closed today because of the demand. It was 10 CHF each for the reservations.

Talbie48,
Indeed, sometimes it happens. It was the same for us, it was a very busy day and we also bought the seat reservations as we were with small kids and we do not wanted to wait much for the trains. We wanted to catch the train when we are there and not to wait for an other in case if it is full and we cannot board.
So in some cases it can be really useful to get the seat reservation to Jungfraujoch.
I hope you will have a lovely weather today, enjoy you day!

Hi Ildiko
As it turned out we had sensational weather. Not always perfectly clear, but the light cloud rushing through made things so much more dramatic. The trains rides were beautiful, we hardly knew which way to look. The trips we had booked reserve seats for were two hours apart – I would not have been disappointed with another hour. There is so much to do and see which takes your breath away. One every good trip!
