My husband and I, with our 10 month old son will be traveling to Switzerland in October. We will be arriving in Zurich and are planning to take a train to Zermatt for one night and then continue on to Geneva by train.

I have been looking into Swiss travel pass and trying to determine if it is worth paying for with the travel that we intend to do? Do I need to purchase a separate city pass to be able to use public transit in the cities as well (I.e. Zurich city pass) or will the Swiss Family card be all that we need? Should we purchase the family card online or are they easily accessible at the Zurich airport?

Secondly, is there an easy way to reserve seats on the train? Is it necessary? Last year when traveling in Austria/Hungary we noticed that a lot of the seats were reserved, but we did not know how we were suppose to reserve the seats beforehand.

Finally, any suggestions for must see attractions that are easy with a young child?

    Thanks for your help!
