There is a hotel and restaurant, and plenty of lovely green meadows which are nice to just sit in – or you can hike around a bit.
However, you would not normally need to spend 3.5 hours there if you don’t want to

thanks. that’s the amount of time the tour spends there so not sure if that’s something we want to do or not. I appreciate your help

OK – so it’s an organised tour? Perhaps they expect you to have a slap up lunch at the historic Hotel Bellevue des Alpes
Many (most?) tourists feel able to do the trip independently as the things to see are (arguably) rather obvious, and as well as lots of information (leaflets, signboards etc) on the ‘ground’ you can read up about most things on line nowadays.

Hi Njk50,
There really is not much to do in Kleine Scheidegg besides hiking. It’s just a small station and there are a couple of restaurants in the area if you prefer to chill and just enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains.
Regards,
Anna

The history of Kleine Scheidegg is quite interesting:

If you are interested in light to moderate hiking, a good option is to walk from Kleine Scheidegg to Alpiglen station or Grindelwald. The path is mainly wide and fairly easily graded
