I will be in Lucerne, Interlaken, Zermatt and Geneva. Can you recommend a good restaurant where the locals go in each of these cities? Do you usually need to make a reservation for restaurants in advance?

    Hi Ava T,

Prior reservations in restaurants are usually recommended if you’re eating as a group and during busy period such as lunchtime.

If you’re interested in special or local culinary experiences, you might find some options here: http://www.myswissalps.com/activities/culinary/tours

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna

Hi Ava! We visited all of the towns/cities you mention last June and July. The only reservation we did in advance was for a gondola fondue experience in Wengen (which is not the type of dining a local would probably do, but we enjoyed it!) We never had any problem being seated, as long as we didn’t mind being flexible about waiting a bit or where we were seated. One of our favorite restaurants was in Luzern, the Rathaus Brauerei. Great atmosphere in a 17th century building with tables both inside and outside next to the water and delicious food!

    The fondue gondola sounds amazing!
