Appropriate clothing in July – men in shorts?
A couple in their 50s is preparing for a trip to Switzerland and is curious about appropriate clothing, specifically whether it's suitable for men and women to wear shorts. They plan to hike in zip-off pants and athletic wear, while also bringing sandals, dress pants for sightseeing, a raincoat, an umbrella, and sunscreen.
- Wearing shorts is generally acceptable in Switzerland for both men and women, especially during warmer months.
- Always check the local weather conditions before your trip to pack appropriately.
- Consider the Swiss Travel Pass if you plan to use public transport extensively during your visit.

Is it appropriate to wear shorts for men or women? We are in are 5o’s and work out often. We like to wear zip off pants, and athletic wear for hiking. Plan on bringing sandals and pants for more dressier site seeing, etc. And bringing a rain coat, and umbrella, and sunscreen.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
