    Greetings,

We are looking into traveling from Interlaken to Chiasso the coming month. This route has a change of trains in Zurich HB from platform 34 to platform 8, in a duration of 7 minutes.

Kindly advise if 7 minutes would suffice to change the platforms 34 to 8.

    Regards.

    Hello Maya Saudin,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

Yes, generally all transit times to ongoing connections on the SBB timetable are achievable.

Platform 34 at Zurich HB is underground below the shops, you just need to make your way to the main train station concourse where platform 8 is located. There are lifts and escalators available.

    Kind regards,

    Hi fiona travel,

To create a new post, if you navigate to the “Get in touch” tab at the top of site, click and the drop down menu will appear, which will give the option to click on “Forum”. Here you can post a new thread in the relevant forum.

If you are staying in Lugano you may want to check out if your hotel offers you a free Ticino Ticket. This offers free and discounted travel within the area. See here for more details, you may want to check if it covers travel to Bellinzona as I believe it may do so:

If not, your ticket from Lugan0-Bellinzona, you can buy the one-way 5-zone Arcobaleno ticket, per your first screen shot. You’ll only need to top up with an extension if you are traveling outside of the 5-zone Arcobaleno network. You can view the zone map in the below link.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda

    Thank you !

Yeah unfortunately we will stay at a managed hotel apartment for three days and the manager says they don’t have Ticino card 🥲🥹but holiday card which is useless for us ! (I really need a bus card during the stay 🥲)

We will stay in a hotel in bellinzona for one night and they will offer me a Ticino card which I doubt we will use as we will only visit the Saturday market and planning on walking two castles there ! It’s a Saturday !

regards to ticket , I try to understand “ zone “ , what is that ? Does it mean the ticket is good for the zoned areas for a hop on and hop off ? It says 2 hour ? It means you can hop on and off within 2 hour window without needing to buy a new ticket ?

    Hi Fionatravel,

A zone is indeed a region where you can hop on and off all modes of transport within the given time, e.g. 2 hours. We call that a “fare network” on our page here, under “Getting a ticket”: http://www.myswissalps.com/train/practical/howtotravel

I’ll now close this thread as it was about another topic originally. Feel free to open a new one.
