Discounted TravelersWifi portable internet hotspot

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Arno shared their recommendation for the TravelersWifi hotspot as a great way to access the internet in Switzerland, mentioning a promo code for a discount. Another user, Paul, was curious about picking one up in Wengen and if he could use the promo code upon pickup. Travelers in the thread highlighted their experiences with both the wifi device and an alternative Salt prepaid SIM card.

Key takeaways:
  • You can pick up the TravelersWifi hotspot directly from the Tourist Information Centre in Wengen without a booking.
  • After collecting the hotspot, charge it immediately to avoid running out of battery during use.
  • The TravelersWifi service offers a promo code that can be entered during the online booking process for a discount, but it may not apply at physical locations.
  • The Salt prepaid SIM card option provides unlimited data for 10 days at a low price and works well for sharing internet among multiple devices.

    Hi Arno,

When I tried to use the coupon code today, I got an error message stating “Coupon Code not valid”. I cut and pasted it into the box, a couple of times, but it still did not work. Is it valid today?

    Thanks,

    Mike J

    Arno,

Never mind — I just should have reached out directly to Traveler’s Wifi, which is what I did. I’ll let everyone know about their reply when I find out.

I contacted Traveler’s Wifi and received a prompt and courteous reply as follows regarding the discount code:

    Dear Michael
    Please excuse the mistake!
    The code is again valid.

You can use it until tomorrow.
For any questions, I’m here for you!

    Best regards
    Philippe

I used the coupon code and it did work. A further note, be prepared to upload a photo of you passport or driver’s license to complete the purchase.
