Difference of double room vs twin room?

Short summary – read this first

Arijit is planning a trip to Switzerland with his partner and their 3-year-old child. He wants to know the difference between a double room and a twin room, typical breakfast times at hotels, and luggage storage policies after check-out. This information will help him choose the right accommodations.

Key takeaways:
  • Choose a double room if you want a single bed for the couple, and consider requesting an extra bed for your child.
  • Breakfast is usually served from 7 am to 10 am in most hotels.
  • Most hotels will allow you to store your luggage in their cloak room for 2 to 3 hours after check-out.

    Hey Arijit

    1. Double room has a double bed while a twin room has two single beds.

    2. You should opt for a double room with extra bed. You can mention that separately. Generally hotels provide crib but it’s I guess for children upto 2 years.

    3. Generally, 7am till 10 am

    4. Yes, most hotels allow.

    hope this is helpful.

    Hi Arijit-

Many Swiss hotels make a double bed by sliding two single “twin” beds next to each other and adjusting the sheet/ blanket/ duvet sizes.
