Driving tour in the Alps from Andermatt
A traveler named John6 is planning a driving tour through the Alps starting from Andermatt. His route includes the Furka Pass, Grimsel, and Susten Pass, and he wants to know if this trip can be completed in one day and if the weather and road conditions are good enough in July.
- This trip can easily be completed in one day, with plenty of time for stops.
- Check the weather forecast before your trip, as conditions can change unexpectedly.
- Don’t miss the stunning view at the highest point of Furka Pass.
- Consider visiting the suspension bridge at Handegg and the Gelmerbahn cable car if time allows.

From Andermatt I’m planning a driving tour through the Alps, first heading in the direction of Oberwald by the Furka pass road, then onto Grimsel with a stop at the lake, heading for Innertkirchen, then Susten pass to Wassen and back to Andermatt. Can this trips be completed in one day? And are weather and road conditions good enough? They all seem to be larger roads but I’m not sure. I’ll be travelling in July.
