    Hi,

We are planning to drive from Netherlands to Switzerland on 14th May and wanted to do Klausenpass on 15th May. I see the pass is already open on the official website, so need recommendations on whether it’s safe to drive now and if we need winter tires? On the website, the status of the pass says- Open with no Restrictions, so I wanted to check if it’s doable in mid-May without winter tires?

    Thanks in advance!
    Saloni

    Hi Saloni,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

You should be fine driving on the Klausenpass in May without winter tyres. However please always check the weather forecast before you start your journey.

You can practical information on how to drive on Swiss mountain roads here: https://www.myswissalps.com/travel/car/driving-mountains/

    Regards,
    Anna
