Is there an easier way to hike the North Face trail in Mürren?

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning a family trip to the North Face Trail with their two-year-old and needs advice on stroller accessibility. They are looking for information on whether an all-terrain stroller can be used on the trail and suggestions for stroller-friendly trails near Wengen.

Key takeaways:
  • Take the funicular to Allmendhubel for easier access to the North Face Trail and enjoy a playground there.
  • While there might be some uneven parts, an all-terrain stroller may manage the trail.
  • For a completely stroller-friendly option, try the Flower Trail at Almendhubel or the Panorama Trail at Männlichen.

I heard there is an easier way to do the North Face Trail. Can someone please tell me how and if we have an all terrain stroller would we be able to use it on there? We would be bringing a two year old. If someone has any other stroller friendly trails near Wengen I would appreciate any suggestions.

You can take the funicular up to Allmendhubel and then walk the trail from there. That way you get some good altitude gain easily and without effort. There is also a playground there!

There are a few short portions of the trail that have some step like inclines, but you may be able to get an all terrain stroller over it. It’s a great little hike and not too challenging.

    Hi RWIK16,

This trail is a favourite with families because of the amazing views and can easily be done with small kids especially if you walk downhill (Almendhubel to Mürren). However the path is uneven and might not be stroller-friendly. There is an easier trail called the Flower Trail on Almendhubel that goes in a loop. I would also recommend the Panorama Trail on Männlichen near Wengen. You can find details here: https://www.myswissalps.com/blog/hike-mannlichen-kleine-scheidegg/

    Best regards,

    Anna
