Hello, I have two boys who are excellent at hiking (5.5yrs and 8yrs). Just wanting to confirm that the North Face Trail (Allmendhubel to Schilthorn cable car / Murren – approx. 6.5kms) is appropriate for kids of this age. I feel they have the appropriate endurance for the 6.5kms, but hoping to hear from others that have done the hike with/without kids. Thank you very much.

It’s a beautiful walk with plenty of benches to take a rest on. Up and down in places but nothing too steep.

    Hi Tiffhauser,

If your kids are experienced hikers, this roughly 6 km trail should be easy. Plenty to see and keep the kids entertained (and distracted) throughout the hike. You’ll see cows and charming village houses, and of course the views are great.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Hi Tiffhauser,

Based solely on your post, I would say go for it. I had done the Grutschalp-to-Murren hike (which is basically below this one), and it was fantastic. Not as long, but still beautiful (see pic). Based on a video I saw, and from Jayjays post, it looks just as spectacular. Nothing/nobody says that you have to do it in any kind of record time. You can rest at your leisure, take photos, stop at one of the restaurants, etc. Again, I would recommend it. You should enjoy it. Have fun.

    Regards,

    Danielsan
