My husband and I will be in Switzerland in October. We will be taking a side trip to Romania. Annika has booked a private transfer from our Zurich hotel to the airport as our flight to Romania leaves at 7:00 AM. I did not think about the return flight to Zurich, and it does not come in until 10:00 PM. I do not want to take a train into Zurich and then walk at night to our hotel. My question: How hard is it to get a private transfer at the airport between 10 and 11 PM? Is it better to book it now? I would not even know what time to be picked up. Please advise with any advice. Thanks in advance!

Airport taxis operate at Zurich Airport until roughly midnight. For late arrivals, the airport taxis may be a good option, especially if you are travelling with big luggage. Alternatively, you can always book your private transfer in advance. Typically with this arrangement, the drivers will monitor your flight and will wait for you at the arrival hall.
Another option is to book a hotel near the airport and stay overnight.
