<<“We will be traveling from and back to Tirano in 1 day.”>>

Please make sure to allow 4 to 5 hours for the two-way travel times, plus any time that you need to get to/from your lodging when traveling from the station in Tirano.

Thank you for that information. We are arriving in Tirano the day before and then spending the night in Tirano when we return. Hopefully that will give us maximum time to enjoy the experience!

    Hi Dismithlee –

Take a look at the timetable:

    http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

You’ll spend between 2 hr 11 minutes and 2 hrs 30 minutes each way on the train.

Sunset time in Tirano on the 7th is 1632:

It is sunnier in St. Moritz. Sunset is at 1633.

    On obvious question is –

Why you don’ stay in St. Moritz, the nearby villages of Silvaplanna or Sils Maria. or Pontresina? My own opinion is that any one of them is more attractive than Tirano.

    Hello DSmithLee,

As far as restaurants go, I can thoroughly recommend the restaurant at the Hotel Hauser, which is right in the centre of St Moritz. We stayed in the hotel a few years ago and, as half-board guests, ate in the restaurant every night. The adjoining coffee shop is also excellent. The hotel is listed on Steph’s list.
