I am seeing a lot of posts where ppl were able to use ApplePay on everything and a few posting they needed cash 1-2 times. This was on social media from ppl returning from Switzerland posting their trip tips.
Personally, I am going to cut the cash I was going to get in half.
You can always get more cash along your trip if you feel you are getting low.

We have recently returned from our regular summer two week hotel trip to Switzerland.
This time we took only a fairly nominal sum in cash and brought all of it back home with us. We simply used a credit card for everything.
In the hotels, for instance, we paid for extras (such as dinner or coffees) at the time we had them. That also made budgeting easy as the credit card account showed on line, both in Swiss francs and Sterling, exactly what we had spent as the holiday progressed. Nice to have no extras on the bill to double check!
Always pay in the local currency, by the way. The choice is given on the credit card machine.

I would suggest keeping some amount of cash just in case the credit or debit card does not work due to a network problem. I had experienced this while having lunch at the Ospizio Bernina station in March this year when I was asked to pay in cash because of network connectivity issues limiting card payments. You may also need coins at some paid public restrooms just in case you are unable to gain access with your card, or where access is possible only with coins.Regards
