    Hello again Sujan

I have now had the time to study in depth your wonderful travel blog!  Thank you for a clear and very detailed account of your experiences written in extremely good English.  (I am an elderly Englishman!)

    Flexibility

‘Flexibility’ is the underlying theme of your travel blog.  You changed your plans to suit your circumstances – especially the weather you encountered.   Two interrelated factors gave you that flexibility.

Firstly there is the outstanding Swiss public transport system which is a model to the rest of the world.  All modes of transport interconnect with each other.

Secondly there is the fact that you had the wisdom to invest in Swiss Travel Passes.  The STP allowed you to ‘hop on hop off’ as your mood (or the weather) prompted you.   As I wrote this morning in a reply in the ‘Questions and Announcements’ part of this forum, “The ability ‘to hop on hop off’ is of HUGE value even though that value cannot be measured in Francs, Dollars or Pounds [or Rupees] etc. etc.”

Your Mastery of the Swiss Public Transport System.

I have been visiting Switzerland for over fifty years, always investing in a Swiss Travel Pass.  I was surprised that you had not realised that the STP covered lake boats.

Except for that small point, I was most impressed with the way you had mastered the Swiss Public Transport System.   I am amazed at your day six, which must have involved a guite large number of main line and local trains, plus some short bus rides in the Broc/Gruyères area.

You also did a lot of travelling on most of the other days.  On day eight, how did you get from Montreux to Lucerne?  (IR15 from Lausanne or Palėzieux?)

Congratulations on your travels, and many thanks for your extremely entertaining blog.

    Very best wishes

    Roger
