    Hi richard,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

It’s great to know you are considering sightseeing in the Lake Neuchatel and Lake Biel region. It’s not so common for tourists to visit this underrated region.

I would definitely recommend a trip to Neuchatel and the medieval town of Murten, not far from Biel. If you are interested in lake cruises, you can find boat schedules on the Swiss timetable: https://www.myswissalps.com/travel/public-transport/timetable/

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Hi richard!

In addition to Anna’s tips, I’d recommend:

    • the charming small village of La Neuveville on Lake Biel
    • the old town of Biel. You could add a visit to one of the Swiss watch shops, and/or the Omega museum.

Some of my other tips can be found under days 1 and 2 of this sample itinerary: https://www.myswissalps.com/itinerary/all-season-road-trip/.

All regular boat trips on Lake Biel and Lake Neuchâtel are free with your Swiss Travel Pass: https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-travel-pass/.

    Hi Anna and Annika!

It’s always a pleasure to take the road less traveled!

Thanks very much for your recommendations. It looks like I will have to add another day to do this region justice!

    Hi richard,

Neuchâtel and Biel are two of my favourite places to visit in this area.

The Omega museum was an interesting visit in Biel, showcasing the various models over the years. Neuchâtel has a lovely waterfront to enjoy, look out for the “giant bench” (if it’s still there).

    Enjoy your trip.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda

    Hi Yolanda,

Yes, I will make time for the “Time Museum”!

    Thank you.

    Richard
