Does anyone have any updates on the new cable car system being constructed up to Schilthorn?

I’ve read the Birg Thrill Walk is closed and that the construction materials are taking away from the view at Schilthorn.

    Thanks, Andym98

    Hi andym98,

I was up in Mürren and at Birg a week ago. Yes, you will see constructions works going on down in Stechelberg, at the Mürren cableway station, at Birg and at Schilthorn. The Thrill Walk was still partially open though, and none of the views were spoiled by the construction works at Birg. I’m not sure about Schilthorn at the moment. But it’s a 360-degree view up there, and even if there are cranes or scaffolding, you should be able to enjoy the views in between those.

To make sure, you can check the live webcams of Birg and Schilthorn before going up. You’ll find them at the official Schilthorn website, to which we link under “Other websites of interest” at https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/schilthorn/. We also provide a project description with tentative dates there, plus links to official updates.

If you decide to get up, enjoy your ride! It’s stunning.
