Guided tour of the Palais des Nations with Geneva Pass

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Heart Voyage is planning to visit the Palais des Nations with a Geneva Pass but is unsure about how to obtain tickets and concerned about the possibility of sold-out tours. After some replies, they decided to book a private tour as this visit is a highlight of their trip to Geneva, especially since they missed it during their last two visits.

Key takeaways:
  • Make sure to pre-book your guided tour for Palais des Nations online, as tickets are not available at the gate.
  • The Geneva Pass does not cover the Palais des Nations, so be prepared for that expense.
  • If private tours are sold out, keep checking for openings on your preferred dates.
  • Consider whether a private tour is worth the cost, especially if it's a must-visit for your trip.

    Hello,

We plan to visit Palais des Nations with Geneva Pass.  This is a 2-hour guided tour.  We are not sure if we just come to the gate and get the free entry tickets?  We are worried if the tour is sold out and we can’t take the tour on that day.  Thank you.

    Hi Heart Voyage,

For security reasons, the guided tour needs to be pre-booked. There are separate tours for groups and individuals. You can book online through the official website. You can find the link on our Geneva travel guide: https://www.myswissalps.com/town/geneva/ (scroll down to “5 things you shouldn’t miss in Geneva”)

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Hi Anna,

Thank you for confirming that Palais des Nations is not included in Geneva Pass.

And tickets are sold out until December.  We are thinking to book a private tour for 5 guests for CHF 296 for 1 hour tour.  Wondering if it is worth it.

    Thanks Anna.

    Hi Heart_ Voyage,

Tricky one.  I guess you can always keep tabs on the December dates and perhaps some slots may open up on your dates? If not, opt with the private tour.

Have a think, if a visit to the Palais des Nations is on your “must-do” list.  If yes, it may be worth treating yourselves to a private tour.  I would imagine a private tour would give you the opportunity to ask questions about each room you visit. It could be additional information would be provided too versus the information provided in a general tour?

    Good luck with deciding.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda

Hi Yolanda, Yes we booked the private.  It may be worth it to learn about United Nations.  This is the highlight of our visit Geneva this time.  We could not visit it our last 2 Geneve trips.

Thank you so much for your advice.
