Walking in the Lavaux vineyards
A traveler is planning a visit to Lausanne in late August mainly to walk through the Lavaux vineyards. They seek advice on the best starting point for a 14K hike and how to return to Lausanne afterward, ideally by train or boat.
- Check Lausanne tourism for detailed descriptions of Lavaux hikes.
- Consider the trail from Grandvaux to Cully, which is a gradual downhill path taking about 2.5 hours.
- Use an online map like maps.search.ch for additional navigation help.

We will be in Lausanne late August, the main reason being that we want to do a walk in through the Lavaux vineyards. I am hoping that some of you might have done this and can advise me where best to start the walk. I feel that as long as the trail isn’t too steep, I could walk about 14K,so where would a good place to finish the walk and could we then take a train or boat back to Lausnne? All advice will be most welcome.
