    Hello,

I do like the view at the Jungfraublick but I have to also think about my husband’s mobility. I decided to book another hotel, Arenas Resort Victoria-Lauberhorn. I think you’ll agree that this is much a better choice. Very close to train station.

    Best,

    Cora

    Hi Cora,

Glad you have finally found a hotel that will make things easier given your husband’s mobility. It’s very close to the station in the flat part of Dorfstrasse, and they have a lift/elevator for access to the upper floors.

I haven’t stayed there myself, but I have eaten in the Pasta & More restaurant several times and always enjoyed the food.

Even if your particular room isn’t overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley, it looks like the hotel has several public areas where you can relax and enjoy the magnificent views.

There is also a lookout in Wengen with the best view over the Lauterbrunnen Valley. You do need to go up a short, steep incline to get to it, but there is a hand rail to assist anyone who needs it. And it’s only once up and once down – you won’t have to do it every day! There are a couple of seats at the lookout. I wrote about it in an earlier post, and attached a map:

By the way, have you ridden on gondolas before? Unlike cable cars, which you board while they are stationary, they’re the ones that you board while they move slowly past you. You can approach the staff at the boarding area and I think they will stop the gondola to enable your husband to board safely and comfortably.

Have a great time in Wengen!
