Have you also bought your upgrade from 2nd to 1st class?
If not, that’s not a problem. You can do that at any time, just as long as you have it when you board the train.

Tracy, I looked at that website but still can’t figure how to book. I am guessing I just get on the boat in Luzern and reserve a seat on train from Fluelen to Lugano and upgrade to 1st class. I have the Swiss Travel Pass

Yes, you just need to reserve seats on the Gotthard Panorama Express train.
You can’t reserve seats on the boat. People wander all over the boat during the trip, and just sit down anywhere they feel like for a while, and then get up and wander around again. It’s just a normal lake boat. There will be people on it who are intending to connect with the Gotthard Panorama Express train, and others who aren’t.
If you want access to the upper deck though, you need a first class ticket (or need to upgrade your existing 2nd class ticket).

yes I have got the seat reservation and 1st class upgrade for the train.
Miggles, on the Gotthard booking page, select Fluelen to Lugano, or reverse depending which way you are travelling. It will show this journey at full price until you select that you have a Swiss Travel Pass, then it just bills you for the seat reservation and 1st class upgrade 41 CHF in total.
