I’ll be driving into Switzerland from Frankfurt Airport. The quickest route appears to take me to the Swiss Border near Basel. Seems like it’s a freeway/tollway without any border stop. Is there a location shortly before my arrival at the Swiss Border where I can stop to buy a tollroad vignette for my rental car (I assume the Frankfurt airport rental car counter won’t have a Swiss Vignette handy)?

    Hi Topher,

Car rental companies usually provide cars with vignettes if you inform them that you’ll be driving in Switzerland. Otherwise, you can purchase a Swiss motorway vignette online or at the border (from shops or gas stations). Further information is available here: http://www.myswissalps.com/motorwayvignette
