Discounts

  • A 25% discount applies to the pass price if you have a valid Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card at the time of travel. Your Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card must be valid during the entire Jungfrau Travel Pass validity period. This discount also applies to Swiss Travel Pass Flex holders, but only if a travel day of the Swiss Travel Pass Flex is being used on each day of the Jungfrau Travel Pass. That’s why I don’t recommend this option.
  • The price for the Jungfrau Travel Pass for children from 6 up to and including 15 is CHF 30. That allows them to travel along for free, even on routes where the parents just get a discount (e.g., to Jungfraujoch). The Junior Travelcard and Swiss Family Card are not valid.
  • Children up to 5 travel along for free. They don’t need a pass.
  • There are no special fares for seniors.

Jungfrau Travel Pass FAQs before you buy

  1. What’s the official webshop for the Jungfrau Travel Pass?

The official SBB tourist webshop is owned by the Swiss Federal Railways. There are many other legitimate shops too.

  2. Can I get a discount on the Jungfrau Travel Pass?

Yes, you’ll get a 25% discount if you travel with a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card at the same time.

  3. Is it cheaper to buy the Jungfrau Travel Pass in advance?

No, there are no lower prices if you buy early.

  4. Can I buy the Jungfrau Travel Pass in Switzerland?

Yes, you can. But I recommend buying online via the official shop. You’ll receive your passes via e-mail in minutes.

Avoid buying at the station if you can. You’d need to go to a staffed ticket counter during opening hours and bring the passports of all travelers. It takes time to get this done, especially at a busy (airport) station or in Interlaken. You’ll receive paper passes. There is no replacement if you lose or damage them.

It’s best to buy online before you leave. That way, you can hop on your first train right after you arrive in the Jungfrau Region. No time lost, and no risk of losing your passes.

  5. Can I cancel the Jungfrau Travel Pass and get a refund?

Yes, almost all webshops allow you to cancel before the first travel day. You will get a refund. There are always some costs involved: either when you cancel, or you pay a small fee when you buy, which allows you to cancel for free.

To prevent costs, you can buy your pass a few days before your trip, and minimize your chances of having to cancel.

Page author: ArnoI have visited Switzerland countless times since 1997. I've explored most of the country, but find myself staying in the Bernese Oberland and Graubünden most frequently. The alps and the rail network remain very impressive, even after all these years.
