Hi,

we are 6 friends with a enfant visiting Interlaken on 23rd and 24th Jan. We want to cover Grindelward first and then have to see some winter happenings in and around interlaken.

plus, wanted to check best way to reach Giessbach Falls from interlaken and will it be a good option to take the funicular in winter?

thanks,

shraddha

Hi shraddha,

Grindelwald and its surroundings are perfect for a winter visit. There's a whole lot to see and do. If you're looking for spectacular views, do visit viewing points like Kleine Scheidegg, Männlichen, First or even the Jungfraujoch. You'd better not get to Giessbach. As far as I know, the funicular is closed in winter and the falls themselves won't be spectacular, by lack of melting water. A boat trip over Lake Thun is an option, although the winter timetable is somewhat limited.
