Using 2G mobile phones in Switzerland

    Does anybody know if a 2G phone will work in Switzerland ?

    Yes. Swisscom will phase 2G out by end of 2020. Not sure about Salt or Sunrise but see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ 2G.

    Hello Clvereynold,

    According to my research also Salt and Sunrise will serve 2G devices until 2020 too. So you will be fine.

    I have T-Mobile plan in the US, and they give unlimited 2G roaming data abroad. It seemed to work fine when I was in Switzerland in August, but extremely slow since it’s only 2G. But I managed to send some compressed photos to friends and family while on the train.
