6 days October with kids, start/finish in Zurich

We are a family of 4 who will be coming to Switzerland 2.30pm of Friday 7th October. I have an idea of an itinerary but I am worried it is overambitious. I like the less is more approach to travel and I am interested in more natural sights than cities. Our boys are 11 and 14 and we would be happy to hike up to four hours a day.

On the wish list is: Aletsch Glacier, Bernese Oberland (happy to spend most of our time here), and Lugano.

If we would miss out on one it would be Lugano.

Also, what sort of weather conditions should we expect?

I like your plan, You have set good priorities.

Weather is tough to predict, even 49 hours in advance, because the Alps make their. During October, the tourist facilities tend to shut down, due to lack of warm weather or, alternately, snow for skiing.

Altitude is very important for weather.

Check cableways in the timetable for your dates, such as Wengen Wengiboden to Männlichen, to learn if they are running....probably OK in early October.
