    Hello,

First of all I would like to thank MySwissAlps.com from where I got lot of information after reading topics.

Beautiful landscapes, mountains, lakes, falls + wonderful traveling system + very helpful people + six sunny days = Our Trip to Switzerland (a gift from GOD).

    Day 1 (15.06.12)

We family of five (myself, my wife, son (17) and two daughters (25 & 22) Landed at Zurich airport at 6.30am after collecting our baggage we sent them by fast baggage service to Interlaken they charged CHF 22 / bag.

Then we headed towards next counter where we validated our Swiss passes.

Around 8.00am we moved towards the station with our destination Stein am Rhein station for Rhine Falls north bank side. The view from the platform was very nice. We spent good time there, we clicked a lot of pics and had our lunch and returned to the apartment (Interlaken) by 5.00pm, we collected our baggage from the station (available only between 5.20pm to 6.00 pm.)

    Day 2

Weather was clear and sunny we also watched a view of Jungfraujoch on TV so we decided to go to jungfraujoch.

We left the apartment at 8.00am, from Interlaken we bought Jungfrau centenary passes (3 days of unlimited travel on all Jungfraubahnen trains and cable cars, including one trip up to the Jungfraujoch. Includes trains to Kleine Scheidegg, Schnyge Platte, Harder Kulm “First” cable car)

We reached Jungfraujoch at 11.30am, we reached the top, took lift to the sphinx observatory, It was sunny day with clear blue sky and the view from the observatory was very beautiful.

We saw a view of monch , eiger and junfraujoch from the platform and also had lunch there.

Retuned to Interlaken did some shopping from coop and returned to our apartment.

    Day 3

Again we viewed the weather on TV, and planned our day for Schillthorn (up via Grütschalp, Mürren and return via Stechelberg), then to grindelwald first the view was again awesome, again a beautiful memorable day.

    Day 4

On the last day of centenary pass we went to Harder Kulm, schinyge platte, and Kleine Scheidegg whole sunny day full of spectacular views.

    Day 5

We watched the live webcam of Mt. Titlis and decided to go there. We left the apartment at 6.15 and took 7.04 am Golden pass train from Interlaken ost and changed at hergiswil to engelberg from where we went up by cable cars. Then after sometime we reached a station from where we took rotair cable car to Titlis. It was beautiful sunny day we played with ice. And clicked a lot of pics.we also had lunch there. We also had photo shoot in the “Photostudio Titlis” wearing some Swiss traditional costume.

    Day 6

We left our apartment at 6.15am and went to Luzern by golden pass 7.04 am train there we took steamer to vitznau, we enjoyed the view from the steamer.

Then we took a train to Mt. Rigi It is known as the queen of all mountains in Switzerland from there you can see whole Switzerland and some neighboring countries too. The view from the top was again awesome. Don’t miss Mt. RIGI it is free with Swiss passes. Then we went to Luzern and visited the lion monument and the chapel bridge.

    Day 7

Our plan was to go to Gornergrat, above Zermatt but web cam shows bad weather so we went to lake brienz by steamer then lauterbrunnen and wengen. Then we returned to Interlaken bought lot of chocolates from coop for friends and relatives and from one of the shop my son and younger daughter bought “Swiss military” brand watch and the elder daughter bought a Victorinox Swiss knife. Then we came back to our apartment, and packed our luggage.

    Last Day

Moved to Zurich then Flight to Delhi (India) with thoughts that we will come back soon.

TIP: – On the first day we bought “lebara” pre paid sim card from Zurich HB (as suggested by a helpful sales girl on swisscom showroom for making calls to India) for 15CHF having calling value of 20CHF + 10CHF bonus card total 30CHF calling value and it has very low calling rates to India (0.33 CHF per min) after making so many calls we still had 2 CHF balance when we left Switzerland.

    Thanks

    Mukesh
