Hi, I have just joined this forum and getting very confused of where to start or go to make full use

of my travel in Switzerland. I shall fly into Zurich on 9th June and out on 16th June ( 7 nights).

My main purpose is to attend a function in LUCERNE held in the middle of my travel ie. 13th June and to sightsee the country as much as possible. I would prefer to be in LUCERNE on the following days.

1. Lucerne (9th)
2.
3.
4. Lucerne (12th)
5. Lucerne (13th)
6.
7.
Can you please suggest how I should plan my trip to make the most out of your beautiful country with the above dates restrictions.

Thanking you in advance.

Barry.

Hi Barry,

Here is a list of links you may want to look at for planning your trips. It is just a personal selection and far from complete. Others might have different ideas.

In and near Lucerne: general information; boatrips on Lake Lucerne; Kappelbrücke (Chapel bridge); Verkehshaus (Swiss Museum of Transport); Mount Rigi; Mount Pilatus

Engelberg and Mount Titlis

Brienz and surroundings: Brienzer Rothorn; Open Air Museum Ballenberg

Meiringen and surroundings: general information; Aare Schlucht (Aare gorge); Reichenbach waterfall (see flyers for English text); St Beatus Höhlen (Beatus caves)

Interlaken and surroundings: Jungfraujoch; Mount Schilthorn

Zürich: Swiss National Museum

Schaffhausen with Rhine falls

Maybe you want accomodation in others cities. See the links to "Handpicked hotels" on the homepage of this website if you like. For planning your trips the Swiss Timetable will be helpful. If you decide to make some longer train trips, use mountain transportation or want to make boat trips, it's highly advisable to buy one of the Swiss Rail Passes. Which one will suit you best depends on your final plans.

I hope this will be useful for your planning!
