    Dear All

Thanks for sharing info, my husband and I plan to visit in Aug. Switzerland( Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken, Lausanne, Vevey, Geneva), France (only Paris & Disneyland), Belgium & Netherlands.

We would like to make best out of our stay in all, esp. In Switzerland and benefit from discounted tickets, offers and tours. kindly advise:

    – To see Jungfrau, Rhine falls, black forest, Titlis, Pilatus, … And some must see in Lausanne, what shall we buy? Point to point, rail pass, tour package including transfer, … Considering the fact we have other countries to visit.

    – In which cities we’d better base and visit the surrounding?

    Thanks,

    Zarah

    Hi Zarah-

    Welcome to My Swiss Alps.

Looking at your destinations, it looks as though you will spend about two weeks in Switzerland? Lucky you. Too bad that you cannot take more time.

Some useful tools for planning your time are in the number of different links included under:

    http://www.myswissalps.com/ge ttingstarted

Spend some time there…it will help you with your planning.

On this page there are links for most of the cities you have named:

As you work out your itinerary, two tools will be particularly helpful:

    http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

    (explore the details) and:

    map.search.ch/

Expand the map and you will see rail routes (etc.) and open “Traffic” under “Points of Interest” and you can see individual stations. Click on a station and get a near term abbreviated timetable.

Once you have thought about an itinerary, please come back with your idea(s).

If you include your interests- reasons for coming to Switzerlnd, such as hiking, train rides, special museums, exploring kid-friendly attractions (assume that is not on your list?), etc.,etc – , we can comment and help you refine your itinerary and and Arno and Annika can discuss discount rail options.

August is the busiest time…kids are allout of school. Even now, many hotels will be fully booked. Not all.
