Activation of Half-Fare Card on Swiss Travel Pass

We are planning a 13 day trip in Switzerland and plan to buy the Combination of a Swiss Travel Pass Flex (4 days) and Half-Fare card.

Can the Half-Fare card be used on Day 1 of the trip even if the first day of use for the Travel Pass isn't until several days later? Or, does the first day of use have to be the same for both? Thanks

The Swiss Travel Pass Flex Combi is only valid between its first and last free travel day. So the included discounted Swiss Half Fare Card can only be used between the first and last travel day, meaning you won't be able to profit from the 50% discount before your first free travel day.
