My wife and I are doing a trip through Switzerland in October. I am keen to do the Glacier Express but understand that it stops running +/_ 9th October. I have read that one can ride the same route with Regional trains, that is from Zermatt to Brig, Brig to Andermatt, Andermatt to Chur, and then down to St. Moritz. In doing so we will still see the beauty that Glacier Express would have to offer. Please, can someone confirm that this is possible? We are wanting to leave Zermatt on the 20th October.

It is correct, it operates until 13 October 2019. After that you have the opportunity to do the same route with normal trains. Please refer to “Regular trains versus Glacier Express” on this site: http://www.myswissalps.com/gl acierexpress. It clearly explains the differences.
