My family and I are buying a Swiss Travel Pass. We want to take the Bernina Express from Chur to Tivano and want to return to on the Bernina Express that same day because we are staying in Chur. Is that return trip included on the Swiss Travel Pass or will it have to paid for separately? Is that trip and return possible on April 17, 2018?

Hi Flem1386 and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

Yes that trip (Chur – Tirano – Chur) is free for each person with the Swiss Travel Pass (or child traveling with the Swiss Family Card) apart from a reservation fee (for the return trip) of CHF20 per seat.

You won’t be able to make reservations until about 90 days out from the journey but you can check travel times using the Swiss railways timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable).

The Bernina Express trains are denoted BEX on the timetable.

If the timetable doesn’t suit you can use regular trains to travel the same route in one or other direction.
