We have ordered a Swiss Travel Pass, first class, as we will be traveling on both these scenic routes. We ordered through Rail Europe Canada but it appears we don’t get to pick a seating preference. Any way we can actually get the seats we want? We want to both be sitting next to a window and across from each other, that’s why we went for first class passes.

Hi Travel42, and welcome to MySwissAlps!

For the Bernina Express, you can pick specific seats. In order to do so, you should book through the website of the Rhaetian Railways. Please follow the link under “More on other websites” at http://www.myswissalps.com/be rninaexpress/tickets.

You can’t select preferred seats for the Glacier Express, regardless of whether you’re booking 2nd or 1st class seats. You could try to contact the Glacier Express (http://www.glacierexpress.ch) and mention your date and time of traveling, the exact route and the kind of seats you prefer. I’m not sure if they can take such requests into account, but you could give it try.
