    Hello,

I have a 15 day travel pass (2nd) and will be traveling with my 10 year old next week. Do you think I need to pre-purchase / reserve seats to go by boat from Lausanne to Montreux on a Saturday afternoon? I think our pass covers the fee but I am concerned about getting a spot. Also, are the gourmet dinners worthwhile?

    Thanks!

There is normally no booking of seats on Swiss lake boats. If it is nice weather everyone will sit outside but it is normally first come first served. However I’ve never had a problem nor seen anyone else have a problem finding some sort of seat.

Getting to the landing stage early and being at the front of the queue will help.

    Perfect! Thanks so much!

Any thoughts on the dinner cruises? Worthwhile?

    Many thanks!

very expensive – but nice if you want a bit of luxury. Better in the evening I think as in the daytime it is nice to be out on open deck
