How do I make a reservation on the boat trip to Lucern from Fluelen, after I arrive from Lugano on the Gotthard Express?

Hello Trish and welcome to MySwissAlps

You can’t – there are no reserved seats. Just wander over to the boat and hop on if you have a Swiss Travel Pass. If you don’t have a Swiss Travel Pass then buy a ticket for the boat before you leave Lugano.

If you want to access the upper deck and dining room you need to have a 1st class ticket or buy and upgrade from 2nd class at a station or on board the steamer.

thanks for the reply. We will have a global aural pass – does that qualify to get onto the boat, or is it only a Swiss travel pass? do I need a ticket?

I’m guessing you mean Eurail Global Pass. In that case you would need to buy a ticket discounted 50% for boats on Lake Luzern. See http://www.myswissalps.com/eu railglobalpass/validit y.
