Buying tickets on Gornergrat on day of travel

Hi there!

I was just wondering if it would be easy to purchase tickets for the Gornergrat Rail from Zermatt to Riffelsee in mid October on the actual day of travel (or the day before)? Or do you recommend that we purchase the tickets online beforehand. We would prefer making the purchase on the day before the train ride but if the trains fill up easily during our season of travel, then maybe we should purchase the tickets online.

I haven't heard of issues regarding trains being completely full there. Certainly not in October. So you can buy tickets online, the day before, or on the spot. Please see myswissalps.com/ gornergrat/ tickets.
