Hi! We are visiting Switzerland in July and will be travelling by car. Which is the best way to get the cheapest cable car tickets? Is there any pass which gives you free cable car access or do you just get discounts?

    Thanks

Hi Bobby001 and welcome to MySwissAlps!

There are several different rail passes for Switzerland and they vary depending on what area(s) you are traveling in. Some, like the Swiss Travel Pass cover the entire country and others just smaller areas. The discounts also vary as well (some 100% covered some are only 25% covered depending on the pass).

Let us know the area/regions you are traveling in and have a look at the available Swiss rail passes here.

Hi! Thank you for your reply. We were planning to take cable cars to Mount Titlis on one day and to Mannlichen on another day.

Are those the only things you will be doing by train, gondola, bus and boat etc?

If so, a pass may not work in your favour. You may be best off just buying point to point tickets.
The only way to know for sure is to do the math – use our web page here on how to choose the best rail pass to help you.
