Hi malhotra,

You will need your original passport. Whether a copy would actually be a problem I don't know. I carry my original one all the time.

Periodically, a conductor asks for a passport as identification, especially if you are traveling on a reduced fare pass or card.

When my grandson had trouble finding his passport in his backpack recently, the conductor accepted his USA drivers license.

But, she did not have to.

Passport is best.
