Compare train and car costs of a Switzerland trip

    Hi everyone,

    The costs of travel are discussed a lot in the forum. In order to compare the costs of the various rail passes, we offer the spreadsheet and instructions here: http://www.myswissalps.com/train/ticketspasses/practical/chooserailpass. This spreadsheet now also offers a column to estimate the costs of traveling by a rental car. The actual costs are often underestimated, so hopefully this helps picking the best mode of transport. A car can be perfect in some cases, but for most itineraries discussed here, public transport offers more convenience, more flexibility, better views, and all of that for the same or often a lower price.
