Hello! We’ve been planing on travelling with the GoldenPass on a Luzern-Interlaken Ost-Zweisimmen-Montreux mid-April. We are aware of the construction works on the Zweisimmen-Montreux segment due to construction works, but to all our surprise we realized there will be no direct train between Luzern and Interlaken Ost either. Is that correct? Do you think doing the GoldenPass with so many off and ons the trains and buses is worth it, or should we rather take the regular trains (e.g. there is a Luzern-Montreux via Lausanne connection). Thank you!

I live on that route. You ride the train to a suburb of Luzern, where a large bus takes you to Giswill with same stops as the train. Then you board the train again and go to Interlaken Ost by rail. An article in the local newspaper quoted some locals yesterday as being well satisfied (they can be a tough nut to crack too). The buses are large and comfortable. Passes, etc are valid. This change will last through 29 April.

Hello aktraveller and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

Follow the Golden Pass Line. The detours are a bit of a nuisance but you may never pass that way again.
