Need to validate Swiss Travel Pass before boarding

We bought Swiss Travel Passes and got Swiss Family Card for the children. We also reserved seats for some specific panoramic trains. We are planning to ride lots of trains, buses and a boat during our trip to Switzerland. With our Swiss Travel Passes and Swiss Family Card, can we just show up to any train (except for the panoramic trains, where we already made seat reservation for the specific ones), bus or boat and board without any need to validate or stamp?

Yes, if the route is covered by the STP you just hop on an go. No validation required. https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ howtouse

Exception is for some mountain trips where you must still buy a ticket at a discount. See here for a map and a list of popular mountain trips: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ validity
