Are you planning to do the full Glacier Express (Zermatt to St Moritz or vice versa) this year (from 2 March). Do you have a lazy CHF420 to drop on a reservation (1st Class Ticket extra or save money with the Swiss Travel Pass)? Then this is could be for you.

I must admit this Excellence Class ride looks very attractive, but I wonder whether it’s worth the startling amount of CHF 420. Let’s see if one of the forum members comes up with a trip report and a judgment on the value for money next year… :-).

I just checked bookings for late March. Still plenty of seats available. At CHF688 a ride (if using full fare 1st Class ticket) it’s not surprising.

I’d be curious how many Swiss residents might take that trip with their high salaries.

I hope the windows on those carriages are cleaned hourly for good photos!
