This site had so much information and has helped in so many areas in planning our first trip to Switzerland this June. Our final leg of the trip will be from St Moritz to Milan on June 14. I am having a difficult time trying to find the best way to make this trip. One train route is to Chur then Zurich then Zurich to Milan – 7+ hours. Another looks like St Moritz to Thusis then a bus to Bellinzona then train to Milan – 5+ hours. Would it be better to take the longer train trip or the train/bus? And should we get our tickets in advance or wait until there? We will have Swiss travel passes so would like to use if possible. Thank you

Hello Reese and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

Swiss Travel Pass will cover you until the Swiss border at Chiasso or Tirano.

Going back to Zurich is a long way round!

Reservations are mandatory on the Thusis – Bellinzona bus.

The Palm Express Bus departing St Moritz 12:20 for Lugano is very scenic. Reservations required.

Another option is Bernina Express route to Tirano and Trenord from there to Milan. Reservations required in Italy and on actual BEX.
