    Hello.

When i buy a return ticket between Zermatt and Gornergrat: can I travel by train all day between stations up and down? (e.g. drive the entire route 5 times)

Similar question for a one-way ticket from Zermatt to Gornergrat:- can I get off at each station and then get on and go higher?

    Hi Red155,

A return ticket is valid for the whole day so you can use it to travel between Zermatt and Gornergrat as long as it is valid.

A single ticket is only valid for a single journey for 1 day and you may get off and on at stations along the way.

You can find more information about how to travel to Gornergrat here: http://www.myswissalps.com/gornergrat/gettingthere

    Regards,

    Hi Red155!

A single ticket is valid for 1 ride Zermatt-Gornergrat or the other way around. A return ticket is valid for 1 ride Zermatt-Gornergrat and 1 ride Gornergrat-Zermatt, so you can’t use it for unlimited trips on the day of validity. You are allowed to get on and off along the way, but after that you’ll have to continue your route up or down and you can’t repeat the same stretches.

Note that if you book ‘Priority boarding’, this is valid for one specific train and departure time only.

If you prefer unlimited rides, you can look into the ‘Peak Pass’. It’s also valid for Klein Matterhorn (https://www.myswissalps.com/kleinmatterhorn) and Sunegga-Rothorn (https://www.myswissalps.com/sunneggarothorn). This can be worth it if you plan additional mountain trips from Zermatt. More information can be found at https://www.myswissalps.com/gornergrat/tickets.
