    Hi travelers,

Unfortunately, a fire destroyed the Mario Botta restaurant on top of Glacier 3000 in September 2022. The restaurant is close to the cable car station. There seems to be hardly any damage to the cable car installations.

Still, services will temporarily be unavailable until everything has been reviewed and tested. Normally the cable car would run until October 9 2022. Then the scheduled maintenance break would take place from October 10 until November 4 2022. The current planning is that the cable car won’t run until November 11, and that the normal winter schedule will be resumed on November 12 2022.

The restaurant will be restored in 2023. Temporary eating facilities will be set up for the winter season.
